100 years from now, what kind of monsters are we going to be remembered as? A foolish people that didn’t understand the plenty that laid at their own feet. A malicious people that taught their children insane theories and spat in the face of God, descending into depravity. We’ll be viewed as savage people, not understanding the meaning of justice, order, decency, truth, morality, ethics, or normalcy. We will be viewed as a selfish people, who took advantage of the Earth, each other, the weak, and children.

And those of us remaining as the years go by will be asked, “why did you allow such terrible things to happen? How could such evil be allowed to fester and rise? Why did we tolerate the deaths of so many? Why did we allow so many children to be mutilated and deformed? Why did we allow our principles of free speech to be so easily stifled? Why?”

And our answer will be, “we were afraid. We allowed this to happen because we were too consumed with our own vanity. We were too scared to act because we wanted prosperity for ourselves, our families, and our children. We failed to act because we coveted comfort over truth.”

And like all the generations before, we will be judged as sinners and barbarians, left to rot upon the ash heap of history, while we come to realize that we are the weak men forged by good times. All I can say, is that in my own small way, I am trying.
