Let me show you three things that didn’t happen…
At Best, the President of the United States must think we’re all idiots. At worst, he doesn’t remember that these three things have happened. Likely it is somewhere in between, which doesn’t sit well with me. But the White House has had to correct the leader of the free world several times for “unscripted comments” recently. Biden is not doing well if you ask me. And it is his political instincts that are failing him the most.
Biden smartly chose to keep the moderate lane during his election cycle. Backed by a fawning press and a galvanizing hatred of Donald Trump, Biden was able to stay in the background of his own campaign, gaffing here and there with things that any Republican would be excoriated for. He assumed the visage of the wizened and friendly elder statesman, pointing the way back toward a sense of normalcy, and for many that was enough to vote for him. They just wanted the chaos of the Donald to end, regardless of the cost.
Biden, upon being sworn in, tacked hard to the left, giving the confederacy of disparate voices some of the surface things that they asked for. The environmentalists got the Keystone XL pipeline project shut down, began the undoing of many of the Trump era policies through executive order and action, and proceeded to talk down to those who didn’t vote or go along with him.
Now we see the aftermath of some of his policies. Gas is at record high prices, and his administration’s response is cut back (or more callously) buy an electric car. We are anticipating food shortages from the unexpected consequence of the Ukraine War that this administration couldn’t stop from happening because Biden showed weakness. He tempted Russia to invade with this little ditty here…
Though he would never admit, President Biden (Brandon) does not represent the will of the people. I have said before that the election of Biden was not the American people saying Yes to the Democrats/Progressives insane push to the left and their attempts to topple as many institutions as possible, but rather a rejection of Trump’s personal attitude, demeanors, and tweets. We didn’t vote for an incoherent international political strategy, domestic strife, record inflation based on Keynesian economics and Modern Monetary Theory. We didn’t wish for the shoving of LGBTQIA2+ propaganda down our throats. We didn’t want to be called domestic terrorists for wanting to know what’s going on in our schools. We didn’t want mask mandates and compulsory vaccinations. We didn’t want to be sold out to China. We didn’t want to be flooded by illegal immigration. We didn’t want a new crisis and emergency every single day.
The working people are suffering. Now, 64% of the American people are living paycheck to paycheck. The party that promised to forgive student debt and shut down the virus has done neither. COVID ended because Putin invaded Ukraine. The mask mandates ended because the political science changed. The party that has lost its soul is going to lose some of their power, and their fear shows.
I just hope that by the time that we’re done with this year, we’ll still have a country left. But for now, I’ll leave you with this meme…
