I think that the people at the top, the ones who really pull the strings through lobbying and political funding, are pushing us to see if we break. If we break, and the country descends into civil war, then there is no Constitution left to stop them. As much as I had been enamored by the concept of peaceful “divorce” at a national level, I realize now that if the United States balkanizes, then we’ll go from liberty to tyranny in a single generation.
