Thought of the Day – 3/30/22

Biden promised that no one making under $400,000 (I’m in that category) won’t pay a single penny in new taxes. He is semantically correct. My taxes, as far as I know, haven’t been raised. But I’m now paying nearly $6.00 per gallon of gas, nearly double for my food, and more for my utilities as a result of his policies. I don’t know about you, but that feels the same as a tax increase to me. My money is not going as far as it did a year ago, two years ago, five years ago, and every month I see the prices climbing higher. I see the packaging shrinking as companies try to mask price increases, and now I’m hearing that food shortages will be coming. Boy, that feels like a tax hike to me. When gas becomes only for the rich, then so does food. We can’t count on our stores to have their shelves filled, and that’s going to undermine everything so much faster than the fights over pronouns.
