We are, as Bill Maher says, a silly people. We live in a delusional state of mind, believing that we can have everything with no cost or consequence. Here in the US, we want everyone to have a high-paying union job, free healthcare, electric vehicles for everyone, and all of our energy generated by completely carbon neutral sources. We don’t understand the magic that is the supply chain, how capitalism works, or how our political decisions impact the futures market and can impact prices today.
I thought that regular gas in my neck of the woods would reach $6 per gallon by the end of the month, I’ve had to revise this thought, and I will report what the price is by the end of the week.
We really don’t seem to understand long-term consequences, and I don’t know whether it’s by design from people looking to collapse our system, or if the people engaging in all of these policies and decisions are just plain stupid. Either it’s malice or sheer stupidity, and neither being true is a good thing.
