“The Honkening” is upon us (well, Canada). But the sentiment has gone viral here in the US. Thanks Tim Pool for the fun name.
I am a fan and supporter of the Freedom Convoy 2022. I would donate, but GoFundMe has frozen the donation fund after it raised over 10 million Canadian Dollars. Personally, I think that these truckers are doing a great service to the country of Canada, and are being smeared and lied about repeatedly in the media. But the smears and lies are obvious now. The playbook of the left and their allies in the MSM is tired, worn thin, and terribly lacking in creativity.
And I think that it’s delicious irony that the people in power want the workers of the world to “unite,” but not unite, unite (if you catch my drift). Terry Pratchett puts it quite nicely on why the leadership and government of Canada doesn’t actually support the populist tendencies of the people.
The people have grown tired of the restrictions, and the insistence of the government that lockdowns and mandates are necessary. They hear the reports from alternative media, look into the data, and are seeing through the blatant lies from the current crop of media companies and social platforms. And they’re seeing how incestuous these companies have become, not only with each other, but with the political establishment. The internet has been a tool of both the liberator and the oppressor, and I think that the net result is positive. The internet cannot be controlled or contained, and it will reveal the secrets that many in power want to keep secret. Whether it is CNN’s president having a secret affair with a the Chief Marketing Officer that previously worked for Andrew Cuomo, or the revelations of the truth about Nick Sandmann or Kyle Rittenhouse, the internet has been vital in discovering the truth.
I believe in the people, not the journalists, not the media, not the government, the people. I believe in freedom and individual responsibility. I believe that the people are more capable than the government or the elites give them credit for. And I believe in “The Honkening.”
